The idea of “The Box” can be transmitted to all bladed weapons, including empty hand practice.
The teachings of Grand Master Rene Latosa are based on the use of principles for combat and concepts for training. In this way technique is important but is relegated to the background. The first is the natural teaching of how to use the body, taking advantage of the concepts as a tool for all exercises and movements.
There is no magic or secret techniques, just an understanding of the physical workings. Once we grasp those ideas we can explore, evolve and improve in Escrima or other Martial Arts constantly.
